HDS - Hyndburn Development Squad Published on : 11 December 2020 / Categories: General The Hyndburn Development Squad is a new intervention run by Mr Delve, Mr Harter and Mr Bradshaw. This is an intervention aimed at supporting selected Year 8 boys to become better students and to develop a range of key skills and characteristics that we believe will guide them to develop as learners and people overall. These sessions take place every Friday. Hyndburn Development Squad is based around using football as a vehicle through which we will be working on a number of key issues/themes. The first session was held on Friday 11th December and was really productive. The first session was focused on developing confidence and the session was called 'All about me'. After some fantastic WAGOLLS from both Mr. Bradshaw and Mr. Harter the boys were off creating their presentation and they were all absolutely fantastic. In the next couple of sessions, they will be finishing their presentations and then presenting them to the group. We will be filming the best ones and rewarding our first MOTM (man of the month) following this process. The boys are really buying into this intervention and I am sure we will start to see much more confident, resilient and engaged learners moving forwards.
