HDS - Special Message from Cricket Star James Prince Published on : 21 April 2021 / Categories: General Hyndburn Development Squad (HDS) is an intervention aimed at supporting selected Year 8 boys to become better students and to develop a range of key skills and characteristics that we believe will guide them to develop as learners and people overall. This week's session was based on 'Motivation Mindset'. We spoke about having different motivations in life and what motivates you to do well or work towards short, medium and long-term goals. Students then took part in a practical activity that involved hitting cones with a tennis ball to display perseverance. I got former Colne CC Professional - James Price, to do a short video to show the boys, which I can send if you'd like to also put that on? James was South Africa Under 19 cricket captain prior to moving to England to become a Lancashire League cricket professional. In the video he spoke about being motivated, knuckling down in school and learning from mistakes to become a better person.
