The Hyndburn Development Squad visited Manchester Football Museum yesterday as part of their involvement in this intervention aimed at developing their confidence, motivation, resilience and giving these students the opportunity to develop the skills essential to success.

The students participated in a number of activities throughout the day. The first session required them to work collaboratively to design and then produce a football out of a range of provided resources before their work was then judged on things like bouncability, weight and aesthetic appearance.

In the second task students worked in pairs to find information linked to the history of football through an orienteering style session, again focusing on the need for them to use their communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills to find as many pieces of information as possible.

In the final session, students had to produce a commentary for an iconic footballing moment. The key to this task was students being able to successfully include a famous football saying into their commentary. 

 The students did excellently, and their behaviour was exemplary throughout the day.
