Year 7 match against Royal Clitheroe Grammar School Published on : 14 January 2022 / Categories: General CRGS started strong, passing the ball around quickly, but Connor B pulled out some good last-ditch defending to keep the ball away from super keeper, George R, who went on to be 'Man Of The Match' for an immense performance in the goal with a multitude of saves! Oliver C broke up play well on a couple of occasions on the right-wing but unfortunately couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. McKenzie B stuck to his defensive duties well, despite a strong attacking side in CRGS peppering the defence and with shots. Joel D played some nice balls down the line for the strikers to run on to and broke up play well with a couple of well-timed interventions. Zaine H played well at the back, made good tackles and several defensive blocks whilst CRGS continued their attacks! Bruce H grew into his midfield role in the first half, creating some of our best chances to score. He also worked hard for the team defensively in the second half to keep some of our opponents' shots at bay. Niall J defended well for the team in the second half when possession was hard to get hold of, alongside Blake O'B who also made some good blocks and tackles which proved important in the second half. Subhan Qa had a good game too, his highlight was when he turned their center back with a nice drag back - Ronaldo, watch this space! Will S had some of our best attacking moments of the first half, just needed to pull the trigger faster and test their goalkeeper - this will come with more game time. Kyden S-M showed great energy and put himself about making tackles and trying to get the ball constantly. Unfortunately, CRGS as we know, are great all-rounders in sport and Y7 suffered their first defeat. Previous Article Students at The Hyndburn Academy provide welcome food donations for local charity.
