Celebrating World Book Day

Our school community came together to celebrate World Book Day in fantastic style, with both staff and students embracing the joy of reading by dressing up as their favourite book characters.

The corridors were full of colour and creativity as characters from a wide range of stories appeared across the Academy. A special highlight was our THRIVE team, who were crowned Best Dressed Department with their brilliant group costume as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which certainly brought plenty of smiles throughout the day.

As part of the celebrations, students also took part in a World Book Day book quiz during form time, testing their knowledge of popular stories, authors and literary characters. It was a great opportunity for students to share their love of books and discover new titles to explore.

Mr Ware, Key Stage 3 Lead, said:
"World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate reading across the school. It was wonderful to see both staff and students getting involved, sharing their favourite stories and enjoying the quiz together. Events like this help remind students that reading can be fun, imaginative and something everyone can enjoy."

A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a fun celebration of books and storytelling.
