Hyndburn Academy Students Celebrate GCSE Success and Look Ahead to Positive Futures

Students at The Hyndburn Academy are celebrating as they receive their GCSE results. 

Among those celebrating were:

  • Maryam who was awarded 9 Grade 9s;
  • Esha who achieved 3 Grade 9s, a Grade 8, 3 Grade 7s, one Grade 6 and a Level 2 Merit;
  • Head Girl, Lucy who was awarded 6 Grade 8s, 2 Grade 7s and a Grade 6;
  •  Head Boy George who achieved 4 Grade 8s, a Grade 7, 2 Grade 6s and a Level 2 Distinction;
  • Mahnoor who achieved a Grade 8, 6 Grade 7s and 2 Grade 6s.

Maryam commented,

I am very happy and I am very proud of myself. I have worked hard for these grades. I am now going on to Burnley College to study A-level Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. 

Commenting on the day, Lee Searle, Vice Principal at  The Hyndburn Academy, said: 

“I am extremely proud of our Year 11 cohort and everything these results represent. They have worked extremely hard with many of them achieving better grades than they expected.

“With these results, they will now be able to continue their education or enter the world of work knowing that they have the self-confidence, skills and qualifications to succeed.

“We wish them all every success in their futures and look forward to them keeping in touch with all of us at The Hyndburn Academy.
