Our GCSE Geography students recently visited Fleetwood to take part in an engaging fieldwork trip, putting their classroom learning into practice and developing the essential skills needed for their GCSE examinations.
As part of their GCSE Geography course, students are required to complete compulsory fieldwork. During their visit, they carried out two investigations, exploring both the coastal environment and Fleetwood town centre.
The first investigation took place on the beach, where students explored the coastal environment, collected data and investigated geographical processes. They then headed into Fleetwood town centre to undertake an urban investigation, gathering information to help them understand patterns and processes within the built environment.
These practical experiences enabled students to develop important geographical skills, including collecting and analysing data, making observations and drawing conclusions from their findings.
The field trip was an important part of their GCSE studies, helping students prepare for examination questions relating to geographical fieldwork while bringing their learning to life beyond the classroom.
Well done to all our students for their participation and engagement throughout the visit. The experience provided a valuable opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and develop their confidence as young geographers.
