Year 11 Students Attend Amazing Accrington Futures Event

Our Year 11 students recently attended the Amazing Accrington Futures Event, an inspiring careers and opportunities showcase designed to help young people plan for life after school. The event brought together local employers, training providers, and further education institutions, giving students a valuable insight into the wide range of pathways available to them.

During the day, students had the chance to speak directly with industry professionals, explore apprenticeship opportunities, and learn more about college courses and vocational training. The event also featured interactive activities and presentations aimed at helping students make informed decisions about their future careers.

Mrs Jess Ross, Careers Lead, commented:
“The Futures Event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to see the breadth of options available to them. Meeting employers and training providers face-to-face really helps them understand what skills and qualifications they need to succeed.”

Staff praised the students for their engagement and curiosity throughout the event. Many students commented on how useful it was to see the variety of options available and to gain practical advice from experts.

This experience forms an important part of our Careers Education Programme, ensuring that every student is supported in making confident and informed choices about their next steps.

We would like to thank Amazing Accrington and all participating organisations for providing such a valuable opportunity for our students.
