Year 11 Travel and Business Studies students from The Hyndburn Academy had an enriching and educational experience at James Places, where they learned about the intricacies of running a business and explored various establishments under the James Places umbrella.
The day began with an informative session on how the business operates, identifying their target customers and understanding their marketing strategies. Students were given a comprehensive tour of the premises, allowing them to see firsthand the day-to-day operations. They then collaborated to brainstorm and plan their own event, applying the knowledge they had gained.
Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity to meet different members of staff who shared their career journeys and explained their current roles within the company. This provided valuable insights into potential career paths and the skills required in the business world.
A highlight of the day was a surprise bowling session, followed by a delightful lunch at the castle. Students also enjoyed a tour of the museum, another attraction managed by James Places. The day concluded with a surprise visit from Jalal, a former student, who joined the group during his lunch hour from college at the castle.
This visit not only broadened the students' understanding of business operations but also inspired them to think creatively and work collaboratively. It was a day filled with learning, fun, and valuable experiences that will undoubtedly benefit them in their future studies and careers.
