Fifty Year 8 students from The Hyndburn Academy recently visited The University of Manchester as part of the Powering Transformation programme delivered in partnership with The Talent Foundry.
The visit gave students the opportunity to experience university life firsthand and explore future education and career pathways. Throughout the day, students took part in a range of engaging activities designed to develop confidence, teamwork and aspiration, while also learning more about higher education and the opportunities available to them in the future.
Students were able to explore the university campus, meet staff and programme leaders, and gain valuable insight into student life at one of the UK’s leading universities. The experience encouraged students to think positively about their futures and consider the wide range of possibilities available after school.
Careers Lead Mrs Ross praised the students for their engagement during the visit, saying:
“The students represented the school brilliantly throughout the day. Visits like this are incredibly important in raising aspirations and helping young people to see the exciting opportunities that are available to them in the future.”
We would like to thank The University of Manchester and The Talent Foundry for providing such a valuable and inspiring experience for our students.
