Charm Awards 2022 Published on : 11 March 2022 / Categories: General The Hyndburn Academy was pleased to be involved with CHARM for the third time in 2022. CHARM is an inter-schools Awards and Talent event which raises money for local charities, YNOT aspire and Carers Link Lancashire. The event includes local high schools; The Hyndburn Academy, Mount Carmel, Hollins, St. Christopher's, Accrington Academy and Rhyddings coming together and organising Orlagh, Serena and Alisha, Year 8 students are The Hyndburn Academy Charm Forum Representatives. As well as planning and designing the red-carpet awards night at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre, the group will also have the opportunity gain exciting experience in; Event Management Sound and lighting Backstage Management Front of House Design of the programme for the event Presenting Design of promotional and marketing materials The girls did a fantastic job of funding and raised over £500.00 through various compeitions. Each school nominated students to receive awards in four categories and we were delighted to win all four! Young voice award: A person with a powerful voice who has changed something about your school or their community that has been a benefit to others? Winner: Jess F Year 11 Sporting Individual Award: a young person who gives 100% to their sport or activity and has aspirations to reach their goals. Winner Jax E Year 8 Inspiration Award: This award recognises young people who are doing something special and inspirational. Winner Casey Year 9 Young Carer Award: The recipient of this award is a person who gives his/her time to caring for someone. This could be a family member or friend who is suffering from a long-term illness or injury. Winner Deisel H Year 9. Congratulations to all our winners.
