Title: "Determination on Display in the Inter-House Cross Country Challenge!"

Once again, it's that exciting time of the year when our top athletes lace up their shoes and embrace the challenge of the cross-country course! This year, the trail took our participants through the school field, around the school grounds, along the canal, and back to the school, covering a challenging 1km distance. Our competitors have truly left us impressed, and here are the results of our inter-house cross country trial!

This year, our inter-house cross country trial saw some incredible performances from our determined participants, representing their respective houses. Coming in at 1st place for Year 7 was Zac from Jackson House, while Harrison secured 2nd place for Turing House, Maisie achieved 3rd place for Curie House, and Layla finished in 4th place for Mandela House. In Year 8, Jackson House dominated, with Layla taking 1st place, Millie securing 2nd place, Essie landing in 3rd place, and Harrison coming in 4th, all representing Jackson House. Year 9 witnessed another strong performance, with Jackson House securing 1st place, Layla achieving 2nd place for Turing House, Zac taking 3rd for Jackson House, and Maisie finishing in 4th place for Curie House. It was a thrilling competition from start to finish with outstanding performances by each house team.

The top-performing students from this challenge then had the opportunity to represent the academy at an interschool competition at Wilsons Playing Fields. We would like to extend a special well-done to Maisie in Year 7, who came in at 10th place in the interschool competition. She is now on the reserve list to represent the Academy at the County Games, where she will proudly represent Lancashire. Additionally, we must acknowledge Oliver N in Year 10 for his commendable 15th place finish in the interschool competition.

In addition, let's not forget the collective success of the houses in the inter-house cross-country trial. Congratulations to all the houses for their outstanding performances in this event.
