Year 10 Careers Week Published on : 05 July 2021 / Categories: General Last week Year 10 took part in a series of careers workshops aimed at raising the aspirations of young people. On Tuesday they took part in a Virtual College Taster event held by Accrington & Rossendale College. Students interacted with tutors from the college and discussed different subjects and had an insight into the daily life of a student at college. On Wednesday the students took part in a virtual NHS workshop. Nurses from different career backgrounds shared their experiences via Teams giving students an insight into their journey and the nursing profession. On Friday we had a visit from local MP Sara Britcliffe, #AmazingAccrington and Ben Clements, Managing Director of local business Emerson and Renwick LTD. During this session, they talked about raising the aspirations of young people to live and work locally. Ben spoke about many opportunities at his company and many others in the area. Sara held a question and answer session to find out what the students thought about the area and what they though could be improved. All students that attended were added to a prize draw.
